TucumcariDotNet
I have procured Tucumcari.net, almost as some fever-dream inspiration after-thought.
Now what to do with it?
First, encourage people to pursue prosperity, which is rarely found in Tucumcari, rattling around the dregs of the past like cockroaches. Emigration to more prosperous places is the first step to personal prosperity.
Second, collect resources for the use of those who (foolishly?) remain. Service/Church directories - Local resources
I don't want to maintain something like a want ad site. There will be updated content to keep up interest (ancient book club?) I may put in a generalized chat room (book club), but I am not interested in maintaining (de-graffiti-ing) such a thing.
Cockroach comics done weekly?
Why lie? death and decay. Suck the thing dry.
The Story of Paco, the Big Sombrero Man
One dandy division manager left on the last passenger train on April 8, 1968. His laugh was barking and he flung a silly tasseled sombrero to one of the last vagrants loitering in the Tucumcari station. "It's all yours, Paco!"
The man who caught that headgear and took the last command seriously was a dirty Polish man that was always mistaken as a Mexican. We will never know his birthname, but he was happy to take the appellation of "Paco" and sport the very sombrero throw at him all those years ago. Rarely has his face been see unoscured by his signature hat and very inauthentic and machicistic "Hispanic" chatter, usually referring to women as "pendehas", imbibing in cheap liquor from south of the border (the local grocery store keeps a good supply), and styling himself as some Modern "Zorro" macho sex symbol around the area.
