An essential element of marriage is that there are two people who are bound together and working toward the betterment of themselves individually and collectively. I make some pretty silly decisions on my own and Lisa is there to help me weed out so much silliness.

The problem comes when only one or the other spouse is invested or present in couple/family issues. If you don't have two, you aren't well-off.

I think I offer her some expansive universe ideas that she sometimes goes for.

Even with the sometimes-justified fears of divorce or allying across the sexes with a potentially toxic masculine/feminine, I still feel marriage and pulling together to face life brings more benefits than the socail concerns that tend to keep people single and independent. Keeping people seperate and uncommitted makes them weaker and definately easier to manage.
