And no one need say they shall not come, for they surely shall, for the Lord hath spoken it; for out of the earth shall they come, by the hand of the Lord, and NoneCanStayIt; and ItShallComeInaDay when it shall be said that miracles are done away; and it shall come even as if one should speak from the dead.

This brings up an interesting fact: The Lord will cause bad things to happen by his own hand. For those who see Christ as only a soul of sweetness and light, this may be an unwelcome realization!

Also, there is nothing that anyone can do to stop the Lord from doing these things. Many people think that begging for forgiveness will change this fate (sometimes this works), but not in this case. I hear far too often and by trusted leaders that Jesus has an infinite capacity to forgive, but that is not correct. He could forgive whatever he likes, but at some point, he apparently chooses not to do so, often when we have ignored multiple calls to repent and we are metaphorically staring down the barrel of a gun. This might also apply to the hope in "deathbed repentance", which should not be relied upon to give us salvation.

The prophet/warrior Moroni most certainly saw our day, the day when The Book of Mormon will "come forth".

"Behold, the sword of vengeance hangeth over you; and the time soon cometh that he avengeth the blood of the saints upon you, for he will not suffer their cries any longer." The Book of Mormon, Mormon 8:41
