Ditch Living

The Big Fire

There was a fire at least close to the Ditch during the last week of February 2024. Don't yet know the fate of the boat.

Raising the Mast

https://youtu.be/uDpXbG4MHE0?si=VEEnh_tSG7tJZLr5 - just need some straps and a 8 ft 2×4. I might use my ramp box (with the ramps inside) to do this.

Keto Stuff

Popcorn (better carb) and Peanuts (fat/protein) combination is supposed to work well if you don't go overboard.

Plenty of low-carb vegetable options include arugula, asparagus, green olives, cucumber, bell peppers, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kale, mushrooms, spinach, and tomatoes. Those vegetables provide other benefits like reducing the risk of certain chronic diseases, containing antioxidants, and providing filling fiber.

Keto Power Bars are on Aisle G9 and A16

Good food to get canned:

Pumpkin puree Chickpeas (good to do daily?!) - drink the juice as well. Sardines (better than tuna and salmon) Tomatoes (juice is really good) Artichoke hearts Canned Meat - some say avoid it except in winter (Corned beef hash, canned chicken, Corned beef) Canned Potatoes Chili (no beans)

Handling the ditch

Ramps might be the cheapest way to handle this. In the end, I am just parking the car on the side of the street and walking in.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09LQ8F1J1/ - (72“ X 15” X 2.25“ 6800 LBS pair - $268) - I bought these and brought to the site but haven't put them out yet

However, there is a plot of land outside of Fritch that I can get for around $2000 that would justify either hanging onto the boat or taking this RV. The boat is extremely low-cost comparatively and it looks like there is free showers and bathrooms out at Lake Meredith (true!). This could work very well if the showers are available in the winter (like they were at Oasis) (recent new stories say that the showers are available in the winter). This could work very well! Only if we can find a lot in section 3 or 4 which may like RVs?.

It ended up being Unit 3 lot 8 and I will pay $3000 for it. I need to let my apartment in Amarillo go (informed landlord on 12/7).

12/18 - there are four showers available, even in the wintertime, at the Sanford-Yake campground. There are an additional four showers at the Fritch Fortress campground that are open during the season, so we should be very good for showering!

What to call the new place? Fritch Ditch (or Fritch Flop)
